Dr Venita Patel is an experienced medical doctor in the NHS, and also a qualified Nutritional Therapist. Further to her medical degree at St Bartholomew’s (at the tender age of 21!) and postgraduate degrees in Paediatrics, she took time out to look further into the roles of nutrition and lifestyle and how they apply to the holistic picture of health. She completed training with the College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2010, and most recently with the Institute of Functional Medicine.
Dr Patel now works for Guys and St Thomas NHS Trust as a Community Paediatrician, specialising in childhood growth and development, and runs a unique childhood obesity multidisciplinary project. She regularly lectures medical students and doctors on the subjects of nutrition and lifestyle medicine, and is a member of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine.
She enjoys running her own "Health Via Nutrition" clinics and workshops in London, alongside many therapists and health professionals in a Children’s Wellness Centre.
She takes a "whole person" approach, looking for the root cause of problems, and applies targeted nutrition strategies and lifestyle advice to resolve them.
